Thank you for purchasing the j5 JVA04! Our Game Capture Station supports 1080p @ 60 fps Full HD
video capturing with 4K @ 60 fps input and pass-through. Easily run on your Windows or Mac OS lap-
top/desktop with no driver needed.
Supports live commentary streaming and party chat voice mix from PS4/PS4 Pro or Xbox One/Xbox
One X and Mic in. It is compatible with OBS and other video editing software, perfect for assisting
quick, live video editing.

2. JVA04 Game Capture Station Software
Once you have finished your initial setup (source input), choose your preferred software, either j5’s
software or a 3
rd
party software, to begin video recording or streaming.

2.1 Installation
Download the JVA04 Game Capture Station Software from www.j5create.com under Drivers scroll
down to “JVA04 Game Capture Station” and download the software for your operating system.
The JVA04 Game Capture Station Software supports Windows 7/8.1/10 operating systems.

3.1 Buttons
Capture
Playback
Setup
Capture: Click capture to record the scenes you want. Once captured, it will be saved to your Video
Path.

To stop recording, click the capture button again or right click on the screen and select “Stop Capture”.
Snapshot: Click on the Snapshot icon to take a snapshot. “Snapshot OK” will be displayed on your
screen to indicate the image has been successfully saved in your file folder.

Audio Mute Mode: Turns the JVA04 Capture volume off when selected. Select “Mute” again to turn the
volume back on.
Player: Play recorded files from your PC.

When you click on the player button, you can choose a recorded file to playback or a file from the fold-
ers on your PC.
A popup screen with the selected file will appear.

3.2 The Tool Menu
Right click to access the tool menu
Always On Top: Activate to allow the JVA04 Capture window to always be on top of the other windows
Display Ratio: Change your display ratio to 4:3, 16:9 or Free
Live Streaming: Stream your video to Twitch, YouTube or a Custom RTMP website
Source Input: Switch the video input source (the auto detected source will show auto)
Capture: Click to begin recording
Snapshot: Select to take and save a snapshot
Volume Up: Turn the volume up
Volume Down: Turn the volume down
Reset: Resets the device and signal source
About: Displays the software version information
Exit: Closes/Exits the JVA04 capture window

4. Setup
You can save your preferred settings in the setup page. Once the JVA04 Capture has been launched, click
the setup button to access the setup page.
4.1 General Settings
You can find Video & Audio, Capture and Streaming settings in the setup page.

4.1.1 Video and Audio
Language
Select the application language.
Video Input
Select the video input for the device.
Preview Resolution
Select the video preview resolution (preview resolution is the same as capture resolution).
Display Ratio
Set the display ratio to Free, 4:3 or 16:9.
Color
Adjust the brightness, contrast, hue and saturation.
Decode Acceleration
For H.264 Hardware Encoder devices use this option to decrease the CPU loading.
Live Commentary
Check to enable the function.
Uncheck to disable the function.
Recording devices dropdown bar will list the possible audio input sources for audio mixing; select the
audio input source you wish to use.
The Source Audio/Recording Device slide bar is used to adjust the volume. The slide bar in the middle
means the volume of the Source Audio/Recording Device is 50/50. Moving the slide bar to the right will
increase the source audio’s volume. Moving the slide bar to the left will decrease the source audio’s
volume.

4.1.2 Capture
Video capture
Change the video path, the capture name setting, encoding format and quality.
Encoding Acceleration helps to decrease CPU loading when capturing a 720p/1080p video.
Snapshot
The Snapshot functions allow you to setup the snapshot file format, choose where to save the pictures
and choose how many pictures will be saved.

4.1.3 Live Streaming
Setup the live streaming options.
Step 1At the profile list choose "+" to add a new profile.
Step 2Choose your preferred live broadcasting website: Twitch, YouTube or a Custom RTMP website
Please fill in the URL and StreamKey for Custom RTMP streaming.
Step 3For Twitch streaming, login your Twitch account, or create a new account if you don't have one
yet (to broadcast livestreaming, users are required to enable an account first).

Step 4Choose the Twitch server for streaming.

Step 5If the username and password are given correctly, your live broadcast information will appear on
the player on this page. Click the disk icon to save the profile.

If you want to change the profile information, select the profile and click the pen icon to edit the profile.
After editing is completed, click the disk icon to save your changes.

Step 7Go to the JVA04 capture preview window and click the live streaming button. The live broadcast
will begin.
