Directions: From I-64 take exit 16. Travel South on Green Mount Rd for
3.8 miles, turn left onto Carlyle Avenue. The YMCA is across from Southwestern Illinois College
and the Metro-Link station.
Parking: Limited parking is in front of the YMCA but there is ample parking in the college lots
across the street or in the Wal-Mart Shopping center next door.
Facility: The pool is a 25 yard, 6 lane pool with competitive non-turbulent lane lines. The pool
utilizes a Daktronics timing system with touch pads and a 6-line scoreboard. The
gymnasium will be available for team crash area. All swimmers must report to the bullpen for
their events which will run next to the gymnasium. Food concessions will be available onsite.
No food or beverages are allowed on the pool deck. Fitness areas are off limits to all swimmers
and nonmembers of the facility.

Format: This invitational will be a mixed event meet with boys and girls seeded together in events
based on age group and entry time only. However, boys and girls will be scored separately.
Relay events will also be mixed events with boys and girls seeded together by age group and
entry time only. However, relay teams must consist of swimmers of the same gender and age
group.
Events/Limits: The 500, 1000 and 1650 freestyle events will be seeded from fastest to slowest.
All events are timed finals. A swimmer may enter three individual events per day, as well as
one relay. Entries in the 1000 and 1650 will count as bonus swims and do not count toward
the three event per day limit. Any swimmer who enters more than the maximum number of
events will be scratched down to the limit, starting with the highest event number on the day
the over-entry occurs.
Entries: Entries will be accepted via e-mail starting December 23rd at 9:00am through January 10th, or
until the meet is filled. Any entries/updates submitted after the entry deadline will be
considered deck entries and will only be accepted to fill empty lanes; no new heats will be
added.
Entry Fees: $5.00 per individual event, $20.00 per relay and an $10.00 per swimmer non-refundable
surcharge. Deck entry fees are $10.00 per individual event and $40.00 per relay. Make all checks

Procedure: Entries are to be submitted on HYTEK format. All entries are to be sent via email to LeAnne
Kniepkamp at yosiseals@gmail.com. All entries/updates must be submitted in Team Manager
format. No paper or disk entries will be accepted. Meet information and the Team Manager event
file can be found on the YOSI website at www.yosiseals.org. We will confirm receipt of all entries/
updates by reply email. If you do not receive confirmation within 24 hours of your electronic

All Meet payments due from parcipang teams are due by the start of the
meet. If payment is not received by the start of the meet, a 5% administraon
fee will be charged.
Deck Entries: Deck entry requests sent after January 10th should be submitted in a word document and
should include all required swimmer information (name, DOB, USA number, etc.). YOSI
reserves the right to accept deck entries and will only be accepted to fill open lanes.
Heat Sheets: Heat sheets for all pre-seeded events will be available for printing on the YOSI website at
www.yosiseals.org at no cost. Heat sheets will be posted by Wednesday, January 15, 2020.
Warm-Ups: Time and lane assignments will be sent to coaches and posted on our website prior to the
meet.
Points: Points to determine overall placement and ribbons will be awarded to the top 12 finishers in
each individual event, and the top 6 relay events.
Notes: In all multi-aged groups (8 & under, 13-21 & 15-21), the swimmer will be scored and receive
awards in their age group and gender. The 6 & under age group swimmers will be seeded in
the 8 & under category.
Swimmers can swim up (one age group allowed). Points received in these events will not
count for individual high points awards.
For relays only, the 8 & under group is a single age group. There is no 6 & under age group for
relays. Relay points are not counted in computing individual high points awards.
Awards: Individual Event ribbons will be awarded for 1st through 12th place finishers. Relay Events will
be awarded 1st through 6th place finishers.
Individual High Point trophies will be given to the top 3 swimmers in each age group (6 &
under, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-21) - boys and girls. High point scores will be the
cumulative total points from (at most) a swimmers 6 highest place individual event finishes.
For purposes of high point scoring, the 1000 and 1650 will not be counted in an individuals
scoring results.
In the event of a tie, a swimmer with the highest finish in the individual medley will be the
winner. If that does not determine a winner, the winner will be determined based upon the
place of finish in the events in the order they swam in the individual medley (25’s for 8 &
under, 50’s for 9-10,100’s for 11-12, 13-14 & 15-21) until a winner is determined.
Team High Point trophies will be presented at the conclusion of the meet to the top team
with 25 or more swimmers and the top team with 24 or less swimmers. YOSI is excluded from
any team awards.
Protests: Can only be presented by the coaches to the meet director.
Officials: For planning purposes, we ask each team to forward a list of YMCA certified officials and USA
Swimming certified officials that will be attending the meet during each session to the meet
referee, Jeff King at [email protected]m.
Timers: Teams will be asked to provide timers in proportion to their entered athletes in each session.
Teams will be notified of the number of timers needed after compiling the entries. It is the
teams responsibility to fill timer positions.
Lap Counters: Athletes/teams are responsible for providing lap counters for events where required.
Concessions: Full concessions will be available during the meet. No ATM available on site.
Vendor: B&B Aquatics will be available for swimming apparel and equipment needs.
General Rules:
This meet is held under the approval of USA Swimming. USA Swimming technical rules apply. In
granting this approval it is understood and agreed that USA Swimming shall be free and held
harmless from any liabilities or claims or damages arising by reason of injuries to anyone during the
conduct of the event.
The only swimsuits permitted are those in compliance with FINA and USA Swimming rules.
Coaches are expected to maintain appropriate swimmer conduct. The Meet Director and/or Meet
Safety Marshals/Officials will exclude any swimmer or parent from the meet for unsafe, disruptive or
bad behavior, at the meet referees discretion.
Swimmers and coaches must obey meet officials at all times.
All swimmers must report to the bullpen before each event, except for the 1000 and 1650 for which
the swimmers will report directly to the starting blocks. It is the swimmers responsibility to report
on time. Failure to do so will result in the athlete being scratched from that event.
Only swimmers competing in current session, coaches of entered teams, and officials and volunteers
working in current session/area will be allowed in the bullpen or the swimmers area of the pool deck.
Spectators must be quiet during all starts.
No flash photography during starts.
No coolers will be allowed on the pool deck.
No smoking anywhere in the facility or on YMCA property
Please keep trash picked up in team areas.
Cell phones, cameras and video recording equipment are not permitted in locker room areas.
