time for Valentine’s Day, join us as we make Folded Book Hearts

Great Female Artists of Detroit – Wednesday, March 14 at
7 p.m. Join us as author Suzanne Bilek gives a fascinating
presentation on Great Female Artists of Detroit in celebration
of Women’s History Month.
Rain Gardens – Thursday, March 15 at 7 p.m. Rain gardens
are beautiful, functional garden areas that filter storm water,
minimize soil erosion, and provide habitat for wildlife. Drew
Lathin of Sustainable Landscapes will explore the benefits of
rain gardens and teach participants how to design and build
their own. Registration not required.
Woven Washer Necklaces – Wednesday, March 21 at 7 p.m.
Join us for a tutorial on making woven washer necklaces. These
chic necklaces are easy to make and super cute! Participants
will make one necklace to take home. Registration and materials
fee of $2 required. Limit of 28 adults/teens.
Peace Corps in Korea 1972 - 1975 – Monday, March 19 at
7 p.m. The Peace Corps program was established on March 1,
1961 by President John F. Kennedy and authorized by Congress
with the passage of the Peace Corps Act of 1961. Between its
inception and 2015, approximately 220,000 Americans have
joined the Peace Corps and served in some 141 countries.
Don Haffner will provide a history of this respected volunteer
program with insight placed on his time serving in Korea
between 1972 and 1975. Registration not required.
Awesome Oats – Wednesday, April 18 at 7 p.m. Join us for a
tutorial on making Oatmeal Energy Balls and Overnight Oats!
These tasty no-bake recipes are perfect for on-the-go snacking
and no-fuss breakfasts! Participants will make one dozen
peanut butter and chocolate energy balls and one serving
of overnight oats to take home. Materials fee of $4 and
registration required. Limited to 20 adults/teens. Participants
are required to bring their own small/medium mixing bowl
and mixing spoon.
Financial Scrapbooking – Wednesday, April 25 at 7 p.m.
Learn how to create a financial scrapbook – a consolidation of
your financial presence in a single location – to help you and/or
your loved ones understand your financial situation for planning
purposes and in emergency situations. Register in person,

your community? You can do both of these at once with the Memorial and
Commemorative program which allows you to donate money in honor or
memory of a loved one. A gift plate on the book shows the name of the person
being honored as well as that of the donor. A brochure describing the program
