What is Chelsea Piers Soccer Club? Chelsea Piers Soccer Club (CPSC) is a premier soccer
club based at our multi-sport indoor facility in Stamford, CT. The club has three full-time
staff members who run day-to-day operations; Co-Director & Girls Director Dave
Flowers, Co-Director & Boys Director Danny Simpson and COO Matt Ellis; as well as over
fifteen part-time coaches. Our coaching staff are highly qualified USC and UEFA coaches
with also combine coaching for CPSC with other coaching commitments; Fordham
University, Brunswick HS, Darien HS and GCDS HS to name a few. As an organization,
Chelsea Piers has a full-time Athletic Director; Kevin Burton, Indoor Soccer Director; Jon
Ruddock and a marketing department to help the club advertise, develop and grow.
What teams do you have and where do you play? We want to field two teams per age
group (boys and girls) from U8 through U18 (max 36-teams), with players from
Westchester (NY) and Fairfield (CT) Counties. As well as our state-of-the-art indoor
facility in Stamford, we also have access to outdoor grass and turf fields in Stamford and
Greenwich, CT for practices and games.
When does the season start and how long does it run for? Our pre-high school aged
teams (U8-U14) run from mid-August through mid-June (10-months), practicing twice
weekly (U8-U10) or three times a week (U11-U14), with outdoor games at the weekend
in the fall and spring. Our high school aged teams (U15-U18) run from mid-November
through mid-June (7-months) and also practice twice weekly with weekend scrimmages
in the winter and games in the spring.
What does CPSC do for the winter months? With our Chelsea Piers facility (CP) in
Stamford (https://sports.chelseapiers.com/connecticut/stamford/welcome), we run
full-time through the winter months. From December through March, our teams
practice indoors, attend weekly workout sessions with CP Trainers in our 360’ team
training room and all teams compete in our indoor winter leagues. Additionally, each
teams plays in two indoor tournaments at CP. Our older team’s also practice outdoors
once a week throughout the winter.
What level of competition do you play? Our teams compete at various levels in CT and
the tristate area. The Academy age groups (U8-U10) and younger junior premier (U10-
U12) compete in the CT EDP Championship leagues in small sided games format (7v7 or
9v9). Once the teams reach U13, they move up to the full-size field (11v11). For U13-
U18, our regional teams compete in a club v club format. The regional girls are in the
